Classroom Prayer Spaces

A classroom prayer space is often in a classroom, but could also be in a hall, the library, a multi-use space or even in a marquee or big party tent outside. It includes a variety of prayer activities, anywhere from six to a dozen, and is visited by classes for lessons, often as part of a well being class, biblical studies class or chapel service.

The length of time of the prayer space is determined by how many classes will visit, anything from one day for a very small primary school to two weeks for a large school.  It might also be open to pupils to visit during break or lunch time.

A classroom prayer space is most often set up and run by a classroom teacher, well being staff or school chaplain. A volunteer team from the school community or local church can also be invited in as part of an RE program or to help pupils engage in individual stations.
